Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiologists specialise in prescribing exercise to those with disabilities. Exercise helps improve function through improving elements such as muscle weakness, reduced range of movement or balance that can be impacted as a result of your disability. Exercise Physiologists are university qualified experts in prescribing exercise. They will work with you to devise an exercise-based strategy to help you reach your functional goals.

Physiotherapists are experts in treating children, young people and adults with a disability. Physiotherapists are University trained health practitioners and use safe, evidenced and researched based treatment assists in treating heart, neurological, musculoskeletal, ageing and gender-specific conditions. Physiotherapists help people of all age groups and with different conditions. They help people take part in the community and be more independent.

Current statistics and data show that approximately 20 per cent of Australian people are diagnosed with a permanent disability or medical illness that results in a significant impact on their daily life and engagement in their social, family, personal and occupational obligations.

As a science, psychology is the study of the human mind and its wide-ranging functions and influences. Psychological research advances our understanding of human emotion, personality, intelligence, memory, perception, cognition, attention, and motivation, as well as the biological processes that drive these human functions and behaviours.

The goal of psychology is not just to study human thinking and behaviour, but to put that knowledge into practice, to help people, communities, and society, in general, to solve day-to-day problems and improve quality of life.

Some health conditions need a number of health experts to work together and we are privileged to work alongside other amazing health professionals under the one roof! Together we can help you manage more complex needs.
